How do you take yours? Jun 12

Some parts of healthiness do not come easy for me.  While exercising is quite often exciting to me (I love that adrenaline rush!), eating and drinking healthy?  Not so much.

And that brings me to water.  H20. Agua.  It's cool.  It's refreshing.  It's the best thing you can put into your body.  But I'd just rather have sweet tea.  Or even a cherry Coke.

It is my goal each morning before 7:30 to fill up my water bottle.  If I can drink at least 3/4 of the 32 oz. jug by lunch, I reward myself at lunch with a non-water drink.  Like that sweet tea.  And once I finish the jug, I must admit that I never fill it back up just because I'm so proud of myself for getting that much down.  If I go work out later in the day, I usually will drink about 2 more cups of water. If I've already worked out and do finish that jug by afternoon, that's usually it for me for water for that day besides my magic water at night (I have told you about magic water, have I not?)  So, that equals almost never having 8 straight-up glasses of water daily.  Oops!

So, how do you take your daily intake of water?  Inspire me.  Please!

Let's be honest...if you drink the recommended 8 glasses per day, you're either part camel or you can never take a car ride longer than 30 minutes. i'm with you laurin. pink lemonade is my thing though.

I'm a non water drinker as well. But lately I've found a little more success with a plan similar to your. Leave it out in plain site and purpose to take a few swigs on it each time I pass by. Oh and not so much ice. I can't freeze out my tonsils

Well I guess I'm one of those rare people who love water. It's pretty much all I drink, that and Diet Dr. Pepper. I guess I just like the taste of water. When I was pregnant with Jack, every other drink made me sick (including Diet DP). My mom doesn't like the taste of water, so she uses those crystal light packets in hers.

Oh, but like Laura says, I can't take a car ride for more than 30 minutes.;) haha

Laurin, I recently heard Dr. Oz talk about water. Water is great when you're trying to lose weight as it makes you feel full faster. But drinking tons of water really doesn't add a significant benefit, he says. They did a study on two girls. One drank multiple ounces a day and the other drank none for about a week. They ate the same diet though. Because there is so much water in the food we eat, it's likely you are getting enough, even without the recommend 8 glasses a day. I try to drink water, but I think I'm going to accept his suggestion that the water craze is a little over done. I know he would not suggested drinking a lot of soda though.

i'm with jo on not adding too much ice. though some say it's not the same i've found that crystal light sure does make drinking water a lot more enjoyable!

i, too, am a water lover! it helps that i am in a sationary place most of the day and i have my big Nalgene bottle on my desk. i do sort of like you, Laurin, and make it a goal to finish so much in a day. i mainly drink water, but also like Sprite and occassional tea. i think it is just a mental thing sometimes about drinking water but it really is the only thing that quenches my thirst. just like brandi, short car rides between stops for me too! it took us forever to get to L'ville the last time b/c i drank so much! :)

Laurin, I tried commenting, but anytime I spend more than 2 or 3 minutes typing a comment here, when I click "submit comment" my comment disappears. =( I'll try again later or maybe somehow it went through and you can salvage it.

Water is more of survival here. As we sit in 100 and up degree temps. we have to constantly be drinking water. If we don't we will get dehydrated. I'm I drink more water now than I ever have. Soft drinks are too expensive to buy on a regular basis. There is no Crystal Light. Everyone pretty much drinks water (bottled of course). I drink water at room temp. there is no ice maker. Now ice is way too cold for me. It's amazing what your body gets used to when it has to.
