Homemade is Heaven Jul 01
I love making things. This is why making things (i.e. homemade) is really heaven on earth to me...
So I wonder what I'll get to sew in heaven? For now, I'm LOVING these little bandana dresses. If you're wanting to get started on sewing, this dress is the place to starts. Fabric = already cut. Stiches = 3 (long ones). Effort Level = Easy, Easy, Easy. Cuteness = Absolutely adorable (to me, that is).

(perhaps I got a bit carried away on A's bows???)
Remember the moo-moo?
Viola? Maybe not but I still love the material.

And what about that guy the Breadman? He still works for me, most definitely. So this may not be all the way homemade but it's as close as I'm going to get. I've added chocolate chip bread to our menu and though it doesn't look the part, it sure did taste it.

And look at these...

!!!
I must have raw breadmaking talent, huh? No. Get this. You ready? Panera Bread gives out FREE bread to seminary students every Tuesday. The Dawkins snagged us some last week. Just had to add that bit in there while I was discussing bread.
So what's next on my homemade agenda? Well, those bathroom curtains that have been piled in my sewing stack for, oh, 6 months...

love those precious dresses...and the bows definitely complete the look, imo. you look awesome too my friend.
homemade IS heaven!! i have made the bandana dresses and aevyn refuses to wear them...too bad. your babies look darling! on another note, i cannot make bread in our breadmaker! we tried in CO, but no success. i am afraid to try again. double sad.
Hee hee, those bows on Aubrey bob crack me up! But the dresses look adorable. My question: do yours seem very thin? I think I could read a book through the one I made for Katie. Any thoughts?
Les, I wonder if the high altitude in CO affected the bread? I would try it again now that you are out of the mountains.
Robin, I think mine look pretty thin too, but not see through I don't think. I guess you could line them. I got my bandanas at Hobby Lobby...maybe they are a bit thicker.
Oh, and I meant to say it is FOUR stitches not 3. 2 on each side and the 2 for the ribbon casting.
Laurin, I am so proud of you for your sewing endeavors and Grandmother was too. SHe always asked me when I got there if you were making any new clothes. I just might get her sewing machine and do a little sewing myself!! The girls look so cute and the big bows just fit Aubrey!!
Oh, I forgot to comment on the bread. Les, the first one I did was terrible. My second one turned out better but not great. The third one was the charm. I am so proud of Panera bread for giving free bread to the seminary students. Make sure you make a Tuesday trip before I come the next time!! Aubrey does look like Aaron in the glasses. How cute!
