Let's talk football Jan 25
I am truly, truly excited that the Colts are in the Superbowl!

Very. Very. Much so!
But, tell me this. Why did they show his brother and his mom and not his wife? I know she's really real. Come on, now.
I'm talking about Peyton's of course.
I started to feel better when they didn't show Coach Caldwell's wife, but then I'm pretty sure I even saw her towards the end of the trophy ceremony.
I just firmly believe that there's got to be a good woman beside every good man.
Moving on...
I was rooting for Favre. But, he sure does look old.
He needs to move on I do believe. I almost felt sorry for him last night after that interception. Aaron told me I need not feel such things.
And that's some football talk for you.
Go Colts!!!!

laurin, i felt bad for farve too. and i totally agree that he looks super old and should really retire now.
go colts!!!
Laurin,
I was looking for her too... I thought just maybe I caught a peak of her in the box, but then I thought it just as easily could have been someone else.
I'm torn about Farve. Yes, he looks like he may have run out of steam, but I always hate for people to end careers on things like that. So I hope he gives it one more year.
Regardless, the most important thing is that the Colts are in the Super Bowl! Yay!
I definitely think Favre should stop changing his mind and decide to retire!
Well, I don't know, maybe not...... :)
I was cheering for Favre, too... but I'm not sure whether it was because I really wanted his team to play the Colts, or because I figured that a Super Bowl would surely be enough for him to be able to call it quits for good. I doubt he will now, after that ending.
Found this script for the Super Bowl online:
First Half: The Colts get off to an incredible start and take a 21-0 lead! Peyton is perfect and the Colts defense is smothering. With about two minutes to go Peyton is driving for another touchdown that will virturally put the game out of reach.
Suddenly, Peyton is sacked! He's hurt! After several minutes, he is carried off the field in a stretcher! The half ends with no furthur scores.
Second half: Manning does not return to the game and is nowhere to be seen. The Saints take advantage and slowly come back when the Colts can't seem to get a first down. First a touchdown, Colts 21, Saints 7. Then throughout the half 21-10, 21-17, 21-20, and then with three minutes left the Saints take the lead 21-27!
The Colts have one final chance but on first down, the quarterback is sacked and loses ten yards. On second down, sacked again! The game is slipping away from the Colts, Time out!
TV's are about to be turned off.
Then, from the sidelines a player with the number 18 limps out onto the field. The crowd is on their feet!
-Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion!
Third and twenty as Manning rejoins the team!
Peyton calls for the ball. After being perfect for the entire game, the center snaps the ball at Peyton's feet. Fumble!
There is a scramble and the Colts recover the ball.
Fourth down and twenty five!
The clock is running, Manning audibles for a fly route and sees Wayne streaking down the sideline. He's open!
Manning reaches back and fires a pass moments before the onrushing lineman are in his face. The ball is tipped!
The Saints see the ball floating in the air and go for the interception. The ball is caught! Not by the Saints, but by a diving catch by Dallas Clark! First down Colts!
Methodically Peyton then works the football down the field. Finally, the Colts have it first down at the ten yard line with 35 seconds remaining. No timeouts left!
First down, a pass to Austin Collie.....too high and incomplete!
Second down, a pass to Garcon in the end zone! Dropped!
Third down, a pass to Garcon again at the five. Complete! Garcon struggles for the end zone and is short by one yard! Clock is running with ten seconds left!
Peyton brings the team up to the line, seven seconds, three seconds, one second, the ball is snapped! The line comes off the ball, gets a slight push and Manning tries a quarterback sneak!
Time for commercial.
After a time out...
After the TV time out it's third down and twenty yards to go for the Colts. Manning calls for the snap which is delivered at his feet. Fumble! There is a scramble for the ball but the Colts recover.
Fourth down and twenty five yards to go!
Manning sees Wayne open streaking down the sideline. He fires a pass at the last second over the hands of the onrushing linemen. But the ball is tipped!
The Saints see their chance for an interception and dive for the ball. Caught! Dallas Clark of the Colts has managed to come up with the ball. First down Colts!
Manning then quickly moves the ball down the field with short passes until it's first down on the ten yard line with 35 seconds remaining! The clock is running and the Colts have no more time outs.
Go Colts!
